Alternative Thermostat wiring for Furrion Chill RV AC
Here is a quick guide on how to wire a different thermostat to the Furrion Chill AC. The Thermostat we used for this project is one that can work on just batteries so it doesn’t need power from the AC unit or RV to work like this one. https://amzn.to/2KQ7OSK We replace the batteries every year and half with full time use.
The first thing we need to do is to change the settings so the analog wires will work in the Furrion AC Unit. Inside the control box there are dip switches to make changes. We want to turn the breaker off for the AC Unit and disconnect the 12 volt power supply. If you have a Multi Zone unit it will be the 6th Dip and if you have the Single Zone unit it will be the 4th Dip. We will switch it up to the Analog position.
Now we can connect the AC wires that are labeled very well to the thermostat wires. I tried to match the colors as close as I could and for the furnace I used white. At the thermostat we had the the blue common wire connected to the RC terminal and left the jumper to R. We connected the Furnace Wire to W the Compressor wire to Y and the fan wire from the switch to the G terminal. The switch receives the High and low on opposite sides and the center terminal is what is connected to the thermostat. Now that we have made our connections we can reconnect the 12 volt supply and turn the breaker back on. With turning the power on the AC should recognize the new settings and all work as it should.
